TN to VA to TN

Welcome to the tour blog!!! I wanted a forum to express my thoughts and opinions and keep a record of our travels and adventures. I will be updating this thing regularly, so check back to see what we’re up to.

We’ve been recording lots of videos during live performances lately and several should be up on youtube soon. You can find your favorite TCR songs and also some cool guest performers.

We’re in the process of mixing the new album and hope to have it out sometime this summer. Please stay tuned for further updates on that front.

Congrats to our friend Art Rosenbaum. He just won a Grammy for his compilation called “The Art of Field Recording Vol 1.” Any fan of roots music would do well to pick it up. Volume 2 was also just released and it is just as amazing.

Now for some more personal musings:

We had a blast in Lynchburg, VA on Friday night at The White Hart. It’s a coffee shop/book store. The coffee was great and the food looked tasty as well although I did not eat any myself. We weren’t sure what to expect going into the place but we played to a full and very attentive audience. We talked to some really nice and interesting people and can’t wait to get back there again. If you’re ever in there in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by the White Hart.

We spent the weekend in the mountains of east TN and VA and the natural beauty of the area was spectacular. At one point, the Garmin had us scaling tortuous mountain roads. This was not the most ideal route while traveling in the van, but the views were astonishing. To our right the cliffs dropped deep down into the valley and the sunlight reflected off the water below so that it looked like molten silver.

Speaking of the van, our friends over at Eikon media borrowed our trusty steed recently to shoot part of a new music video for local chanteuse Allison Weiss. So, keep and eye out for that.

And now for a list of…

Records that are currently blowing my mind:

1. “Jackson Brown” aka “Saturate Before Use” by Jackson Browne

2. “Pacific Ocean Blue” by Dennis Wilson

3. “You and Me” by The Walkmen

4. “Buenos Noches From a Lonely Room” by Dwight Yoakam

5. “Tago Mago” by The Can

Adios!
